South Central Chapter—SOT

Welcome to the South Central Chapter-SOT web page. The South Central Chapter (SCC) of SOT serves academic, government and industrial toxicologists throughout the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and western Tennessee. Established in 1982, the SCC’s mission is to foster scientific exchange among those in the region involved in toxicological research and teaching plus its application to human and environmental risk assessment. To meet this goal, the SCC-SOT sponsors

  1. An annual fall meeting at alternating locations throughout the 5-state area
  2. An annual reception at the national SOT meeting
  3. Pre-doctoral student awards to foster research training

Further communication among SCC membership is achieved through publication of a biannual SCC Newsletter, which includes notices of regional seminars, position announcements, and news of professional accomplishments of SCC members plus opted pieces on contemporary toxicological issues and communications from the national SOT.
