Frequently Asked Questions by Members

  1. I forgot (or lost) my Member ID number. Can you provide it for me?   <back to top

Use this password retrieval to submit a request to have your Membership ID emailed to you.

  2. Want to change your Membership ID?   <back to top

  3. Visit your Member Profile to make changes to your record.

  4. Why is my information in the printed version of the Membership Directory incorrect?   <back to top

Corrections to the membership information made before July 1, are included in the next directory. Please go to the Membership Profile and verify that your information is now current. Members can use the Membership Directory Online to check for current addresses for other members.

  5. How do I have full access to the SOT website?   <back to top

To view all of the pages, you need to login as a member. The website accepts member login (last name) and password (member ID) from the home page. If you automatically enter your member ID upon entering the site, you will have access to the entire site.

Otherwise, at the point you want to view a restricted page, your member identification will be requested. After it is entered and accepted, you will automatically access the content you selected.

  6. Why do I have to keep logging in everytime I go to a different Members Only page?   <back to top

This site requires that your browser support “cookies” technology. If you have your browser configured to not accept cookies, you will have to re-login for every Members Only page. Also, every time you close your browser and re-open it, you will have to re-login.

  7. I paid student registration for the last annual meeting. Doesn't that mean I am now a student member?   <back to top

No, membership must be applied for separately. Now is a good time for you to apply and then you'll be eligible for student awards and other student benefits.

  8. Journal Subscription

  9. What is my Toxicological Sciences (ToxSci) subscription number?   <back to top

There is no subscription number through Oxford University Press. SOT members access their site via the SOT member ID. If you want to reach the online version of ToxSci, log in to the SOT website as a member (using your last name and password) and follow the directions below.

  10. How do I find the ToxSci website?   <back to top

After logging in to the SOT website, select the ToxSci menu option on the left navigation bar, under Access Information. You will also find a link to ToxSci on the publications page.

  11. Do members who were members when Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology (TAP) was an official SOT journal have access to that journal online?   <back to top

No, the online version of TAP only is available to those who have a subscription or license agreement with Elsevier, the publisher.

  12. Why am I not receiving my SOT journal by mail?   <back to top

If you paid $136 for this year’s dues, your membership includes electronic subscription to ToxSci but not the printed version.

If your membership level included print the journal, we may not have your correct address. See the next response.

  13. How do I make changes to my address for journal subscription?   <back to top

Log into SOT’s website, Membership option in the left navigation bar under Inside SOT. Or use this direct link to Member Profile. Updating the SOT member database is all that is needed to update your address for journal subscription.

You may also send address changes directly to Rosibel Alvarenga.
